On October 21, 2009, a good friend to myself, my family, the whole Empire family, and countless others, passed away at his home in Nevada. Details are scarce at this point, and as such, circumstances are unknown. Brian, or Tweek, as he was known on the forum, was a great person. I personally knew him since 2004, when he arrived at Pope AFB in Fayetteville, NC for his first duty assignment. There, I had the opportunity to work with him, and hang out with him outside of work quite often as well. He was always a good friend to everybody. The kind of friend who, if you needed a little help with anything at all, would drop everything to come give you a hand. After Pope, he ended up getting stationed in England, so we were short one of our partners back in Fayetteville. But, me & Brian still kept in touch as we hopped all over the world, as is usually the situation in the military. As we ended up at this point, Brian stationed in Nevada, and me in Florida, we would converse on the weekend, talking about whatever insanity was going on in the circus that was our job, or outside of work, or whatever. Maybe play some video games, or anything. Laugh about the old times back in NC. Now, so many people in so many places find themselves short a friend, brother, or son, whatever each individual case may be. I know I speak for the whole Empire when I say you will be sorely missed, Brian. I would also, on behalf of myself and the Empire, like to offer the condolences of the entire Empire to Brian’s parents, grandparents, siblings, entire family, his friends, and others who knew him. I would encourage everyone to focus on the good times we all had with Brian (God knows there were far too many to count…lol). The pain that everyone feels from the loss of Brian, as terrible as it is, will heal, though it may not seem so. Let us all celebrate the life of a great human being, and an even better friend. As we all know, Brian was all about making people laugh, which he was good at doing. To quote a good friend of myself and Brian, Dan Galloway, “You know he’s somewhere cracking someone up, right now…” And that is how I will always remember Brian. Great guy, with an awesome sense of humor, always there for you, in any situation. Again, our condolences to everyone who knew and loved Brian. May you rest in well-deserved peace Brian. You’ve earned it. We will NEVER forget you…
