praying for boston WE STAND WITH BOSTON

What can we really do as Americans, as people living in a free democratic society to combat terrorism…foreign or domestic? Part of what makes America great is the fact that we can move about this land without fear of reprisal from our government. If we stop that movement because we let our fears paralyze us…then we really are no longer free.
A “terrorist attack” does not mean it wasn’t by an American citizen…Quit with the racial profiling…North Korea is not responsible, Obama is not responsible, security is not responsible. WE are responsible. Wake up and find the truth- …My prayers go out to Boston

Mistajay: What is the story and conception behind your emcee name?

Soul Infected: My mc name (Soul Infected)has two meanings:
Soul infected is a person who has gone through alot in life,
and has cuts and scars from the past so the person’s soul
is always infected. It means pain, struggle and surviving.

Other meaning: When I make beats I use alot of old soul
samples, or old tracks that I think have soul. I put something
new to old so I infect the sample with something new.

Mistajay: What area are you reppin?

Soul Infected: I really cant say I rep just one place, I basically rep three
places I’ve lived in the most and have the most love for:

Varkaus(place that I was born)
Atlanta Alpharetta and Espoo Olari.

Mistajay: What are your influences of your music? And what inspires you?

Soul Infected: I gotta say influences I get the most from is hip-hop from
the 90’s, and old soul music. Of course other genres too,
I don’t just listen to one or two type of music, I get inspired
by alot of music as long as there’s a feeling to it and its
real music not that bullshit they play on the radio.
I gotta say pain inspires me alot, I’m like a country singer
I think I do my best when I’m feeling down about something
or some ruff things are going on in my life.

Mistajay: How do you describe your style?

Soul Infected: My style could be best described: Raw, 90’s type hip-hop,
saying what I wanna when I wanna, deep and not just one

Mistajay: Viewing the and learning more about the process of making music also listening and taking in all aspects of music, how has that changed your view on the game?

Soul Infected: I remember when i started making music in the late 90’s with a friend,
we only had a busted cassette recorder, some instrumentals off some cd
and we had to rap to the instrumental basically live and we made mixtapes
like that, we just had fun with it. I kinda miss those days, cus it was all
about that good feeling, everyday learning new stuff. I was bored of always
rapping to the instrumentals so I learned how to make beats myself, there
was always that certain sound I was going for I couldn’t find it back then
on other peoples instrumentals. But like I said I’m a 90’s hip-hop type of
a man, I don’t like where the music industry is going right now or has already
gone for a few years now, especially hip-hop. There not respecting the culture
like they should, but then again that’s just the popular music; the real hip-hop is
not on the radio.

Mistajay: What is your best song recorded to date and why?

Soul Infected: Wau! I might have to say a track that’s not released yet,
Liukas pinta it means slippery surface. A friend’s death
inspired me to do that track, the story on the track is not
strait from his life but he inspired me.

Mistajay: If you could share the stage with any other 3 artists or bands who are still around and touring, who would they be and why?

Soul Infected: Dj premier, Method Man and Vinnie Paz.

Mistajay: Where do you see the hip hop going in 2012? How do you see yourself fitting into

Soul Infected: I’m not trying to fit in anywhere, I don’t follow any type of “fashion” or what’s hot right now, I concentrate on doing music the way I wanna do it, the way I think
is dope. Where hip-hop is going…I think independent artist’s are making a rise
and making there own things happened on there own terms, and I love that!
That’s the way it should be, mcs’s producers doing what they wanna do the way
they wanna do it!

Mistajay: What are your future plans?

Soul Infected: My plan is to make my name bigger and bigger make beats and collabs
all over the world. I don’t over think it too much i got plans but its
all coming together slowly quietly but hopefully it will be deadly.

Mistajay: Any last thoughts?

Soul Infected: I gotta give a shout out to everyone that’s been supporting me and
listening to me, sharing my music, and people I’m working/worked with,
