freedom infinite Underground Experience 6 26 014

Mistajay: What is the story and conception behind your emcee name?

FREEDOM INFINITE: Well It Came From Me Wanting to Have The Freedom to say and do what I wanted to say and do forever.. Hence the Freedom Infinite.. But Freedom is not an image it is a concept… but everybody wants the Freedom to do something in life.

Mistajay: What area are you reppin? What is the hip hop scene like there?

FREEDOM INFINITE: I am in the 919 Region of North Carolina known as JoCo aka Johnston County (Selma, Smithfield, Clayton, Benson, Four Oaks, Kenly) It’s the country out here lol, So I do more in the capital city Raleigh, NC and the scene out there is madddd mixed with so much talent… but we must do better at turning down our egos and turning up our Unity.

Mistajay: You say you where Inspired By Lupe Fiasco’s “Food and Liquor” album What are your influences of your music? And what inspires you?

FREEDOM INFINITE: Lupe Fiasco, Big L, Curren$y, Smoke Dza, Freddie Gibbs have had the most influences in my music, what inspires me is my Infinite Family Members (Myer$, Conyers, Lala Specific, RSK, Kah-Yotti,, Courtney Edge, Absalute, Knowledge Infinite) My Dj (Dj Profluent) My Manager (Shayid Justice aka THAT NIGGI SHA) and most of all my Mother and my Father because I want to make them happy with my upcoming success.

Mistajay: How do you describe your style?

FREEDOM INFINITE: Aiiiite so I can do the whole punchline/metaphor rap thing, I can make songs for the ladies, Stoners, but my style is based off of loving to flow with words, I am a student of the game and I love transitioning flows in verses I have been known to switch up my style like 7 times in one verse. But I am an Intellectual Wordsmith aka A Nerdy Emcee.

Mistajay: You talk about emphasizing of skill over image with the LP “Operation Chokehold What is your best song recorded to date and why?

FREEDOM INFINITE: It would have to be “Achievements” because it was me looking back at where I came from 3-4 years ago when no one absolutely knew I existed and I was just having a hard time figuring out why to now having opportunities approach me with ease. When no one believed I could start my own brand and have people want to be apart of it because of my style and the type of music I made, but now everyone who doubted or second guessed can see that Infinite gets “Achievements”

Mistajay: You have worked with 2 other artists from Smithfield, North Carolina known as Lil’C and Grim Kidd and formed the group BDP also known as Bad Dawg Productions. If you could share the stage with any 3 artists or bands who are still around and touring, who would they be and why?

FREEDOM INFINITE: I would love to rock a show with Slick Rick, I would love to rock a show with competitively with Kendrick Lamar and I would love to rock a show with Lupe Fiasco because those would be milestone moments where I could prove my skills against Premiere Emcees from the Past, To my favorite Emcee of All Time, and To the Premiere Emcee of Today (most people would argue Drake, but Kendrick can out rap him though) plus Kendrick is a better live performer and I am one of the best live performers in North Carolina HANDS DOWN!

Mistajay: A lot of artists come into the game with a lot of ambition but don’t spend time learning the business side. How important to you is learning about publishing and royalties?

FREEDOM INFINITE: We can’t just put mixtapes out on datpiff and videos on youtube and hope we’re going to get signed that way. And If Artists aint published with BMI or ASCAP or some type of publishing, they are just wasting time dropping tracks. Business is important, We must invest to get back, but RESEARCH before you invest because it’s a lot of people running scams and shit out here trying to milk upcoming artists for what they got with pipedreams and lies of “Knowing the right people to get you where you need to be.” This game is full of sharks… don’t be the tuna. Sha has and is still teaching me the business side of music… remember.. %10 music/%90 business.

Mistajay: Where do you see the hip hop going in 2014? How do you see yourself fitting into

FREEDOM INFINITE: 2014 is up for grabs, All this bubblegum crap niggis are putting out is starting to fall off and people want to hear that real shit again you know? You got niggis wearing skirts and shit… Mannnnn all I know is THE INFINITE FAMILY has some business to handle from 2014-Infinity and nobody is going to stop us. Coming Soon Our Label Will Be Established and Certified as “Infinite Family Sounds”

Mistajay: What are your future plans?

FREEDOM INFINITE: I plan to takeover the world lol JOKE JOKE JOKE…. I just make music, make money, give back to where I came from because we need a positive role model in the town of Selma, NC and I know I can and will fulfil that role properly and to make sure all of my loved ones are well off before my time is up in music or life.

Mistajay: Any last thoughts?
