MIstajay: What is the story and conception behind your emcee name?

Da’Rell: My emcee name is my real name. I wanted my name to fit with the music I make. I don’t need an entertainment name when my name is original like everything else I do.

MIstajay: What area are you reppin? What is the hip hop scene like there?

Da’Rell:I’m from Indianapolis Indiana. The hip hop scene is like a big royal rumble, a lot of talented artist that is just trying to break into the industry.

MIstajay: You named Tupac, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Eminem as influences What are your other influences of your music? And what inspires you?

Da’Rell:Well growing up I was listening to a lot of different artist but some to name besides them will be Michael Jackson, Backstreet boys, Hopsin, Ludacris, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne, Bow Wow, Lupe Fiasco, Chris Brown and Drake.

MIstajay: How do you describe your style?
Da’Rell:My style is all about being positive, fun and free to make anything or do anything I want. My style represent the youth and how just using imagination can take anyone a long way.

MIstajay: What is your best song recorded to date and why?
Da’Rell:My favorite song I have recorded through out my career is my nee single called Patience. The reason why because I can tell the improvement from my flow , delivery and concept.
MIstajay: If you could share the stage with any 3 artists or bands who are still around and touring, who would they be and why?
Da’Rell:My top three right now will be Drake, Backstreet boys and Ludacris.

MIstajay: A lot of artists come into the game with a lot of ambition but don’t spend time learning the business side. How important to you is learning about publishing and royalties?
Da’Rell: Got to pay attention to your money

MIstajay: Where do you see the hip hop going in 2016? How do you see yourself fitting into that?

Da’Rell: I feel the hip hop scene will  be going back to the way things use to be back in the days. What I mean is the rawness of songs from back in the day and how it made us feel growing up listening to artist like they was heroes. I think artist is going to be more lyrical and outspoken about what’s going on in the world and make more than club bangers for the radio.

MIstajay: What are your future plans?
Da’Rell:My future plans is to be a hip hop star. I want to film in a lot of different movies, tv shows and comedy clips. Also I want to tour around the world meeting new people and be able to take care of my family.

MIstajay: Any last thoughts?
Da’Rell:Last thing is thank you for interviewing me, these was some dope questions and I believe you will go far with what you are doing. Stay positive and keep grinding to make the dream work.
