Mistajay:  What is the story and conception behind your Artist name?

BIG S.I.N. : When I was younger I had the name Mr. Sinister

then overtime I shortened it to Sin and one of my homeboys told me to make it BIG S.I.N. because it's more marketable so I stuck with that the acronym stands for Southern Ill Nigga

Mistajay: What area are you reppin? What is the hip hop scene like there?..

BIG S.I.N. : I'm repping the Henderson area, it's mostly current artist doing drill music, artist like myself are few and far between, alot of artist have quit doing music or they are hating on the young ins, I don't hate on the young ins, I don't agree with everything they represent but they are doing the samethings we was coming up, plus I have a fan base all over the world so I just do the music I want to do, I'm not interested in radio too much, maybe internet radio to promote my music to my audience but that's it

Mistajay: What are your overall influences of your music? And what inspires you?

BIG S.I.N. : Well Life inspires me, if you need inspiration just look around and you will find it, artist that inspired me are Redman, Wutang, Outkast, Jay Z just to name a few I still listen to there old projects for inspiration

Mistajay: How do you describe your style of  hip-hop?

BIG S.I.N. : It is old school with a soulful feel, I don't do the new hip-hop I just do what I know and feel but I keep it relevant tho

Mistajay: Your most recent project is The Quiet Pandemic EP...What is your best song recorded to date and why?

BIG S.I.N. : Well, I just dropped a new project afew weeks ago called Ryan's Quest, it's Streaming pretty good, I thank God for that, my best song to date I think would be Architect from my Hulk Smash EP, but there are so many from the catalog to choose from

Mistajay: I f you could work with any other 3 artists or bands who are still around and touring, who would they be and why?

BIG S.I.N. : I would love to work with Gza...KRS and Redman....because no matter how much time goes by they are still as dope as they were 20 years ago

Mistajay: A lot of artists/producers come into the game with a lot of ambition but don’t spend time learning the business side. How important to you is learning about publishing and royalties?

BIG S.I.N. : It's very important, alot of cats still got a 90's Mentality, they think somebody gone hear their music and put em on and they rich, you gotta learn the business side because music industry people are cut throat when it comes to business, you get your business right you won't even have to deal with them

Mistajay: Where do you see the hip hop going in 2024? How do you see yourself fitting into that?

BIG S.I.N:. I see AI coming into hip-hop but I don't think it will work that long I could be wrong but no soul and heart, I don't see it lasting long at all, I'm at a point now where I don't try to fit in I just make my music for my supporters and call it a day.

Mistajay: You are 15 year vet what is the most important lesson you feel you have learned?

BIG S.I.N. : I learned that you just have to stay authentic and true to yourself, I've seen them come and go, but I'm still standing, being authentic and real will take you a long way

Mistajay: What are your other future plans?.

BIG S.I.N:. I'm thinking about getting into more movies, I was in a movie called Hit A Lick 2 available on Tubi right now, it was fun doing that film and the guy that shot and directed it put one of my songs in the film you can hear it as soon as the movie starts, so more movies in my future and I'll keep dropping projects I'm currently working on another one right now
