Mistajay: What is the story and conception behind your artist name?
K davis the hitman: the story is k davis, davis the hitman the south bronx spokesmen profit of the ghetto - artist that helps the the public k davis the hitman stands for kareem davis I make hits and I’m a grown man
Mistajay: What area are you reppin? What is the hip hop scene like there?
K davis the hitman: I’m repping the south bronx new york city , the hip hop scene is the mecca of the industry the foundation hip hop
Mistajay: What are your influences of your music? And what inspires you?
K davis the hitman: my influences is my uncle doug e fresh the culture of hip hop what inspired me is being able to speak to a large amount of people at one time as well as my grandparents kept music in my heart 24-7 since I was 7 years old i been raised around the culture
Mistajay: You have been described by a Hip-Hip legend as a “incredible lyrical talent and showman with a style that has evolved but stayed true to the essence hip-hop.” How do you describe your style?
K davis the hitman: my style is has many faces to it I’m a chameleon and pilla of the culture my style is reflection of man and who I am
Mistajay: The newest album you have released is titled Pressure. It is a 17 track highly anticipated album mixtape.. What was your inspiration for this album? What is your best song produced to date and why?
K davis the hitman: this album is applying pressure to the new era of hip hop battle field, vinny vanicchi, big dogs, and fuck you….. my best song produced today is the you , tha diamond , dass2daflo , and dougfresh because these songs are party favorites and will last forever
Mistajay: You had the opportunity to tour with respected artists such as Prince Markey D, MOP, Grand Daddy IU, and Original Flavor. If you could tour any other 3 artists or bands who are still around and touring, who would they be and why?
K davis the hitman: jay z , ice cube , doug e fresh , george clinton , because these are the heart of music and the sold out every night and its like going on tour hip hop gods we this ghetto heaven for any upcoming artist
Mistajay: You signed your first record deal, at age 18, with International Bad Boy Records, which soon became Blunted Records. Being further developed, but never released an official album during his contract. With that, a lot of artists come into the game with a lot of ambition but don’t spend time learning the business side. How important to you is learning about publishing and royalties?
K davis the hitman: its very important and its the only way you will see income in the longhall owning your masters and pub is the only you live in this industry
Mistajay: Doug E. Fresh, hip-hop pioneer and legend, has served as uncle and mentor, inspiring you throughout your career please let us in more on this story. How has that helped you as an artist?
K davis the hitman: it helped me tremendously and it set the mark to becoming one of the greats one day my uncle built me up to become a strong independent artist
Mistajay: Where do you see the hip hop going in 2022? How do you see yourself fitting into that?
K davis the hitman: - I see it staying in place and I see me creating a new hip hop era sound and wave
Mistajay: What are your future plans?
K davis the hitman: my plans are jumping films and becoming a worldwide actor i will create music but I will be mostly involved with filming movies , directing and acting
Mistajay: Any last thoughts?
K davis the hitman: all upcoming artist before you enter the hip hop industry learn the business and study the culture keep it true hip hop
